Election 2012 - The State As God

Barack Obama is not the real problem.  Really.

Obama is only the Priest, the Bishop, the Pope if you will, of an ancient religion with a new face.

The real problem is this:

The State has become the God of the people. 

The State has become the Provider, the Sustainer, the Hope, and the Source for a huge number of our people.

Instead of El Shaddai, it is the State which is Almighty.

Instead of Adonai, it is the State which is Master.

Instead of Jehovah Raah, it is the State which Shepherds us in green pastures.

Instead of Jehovah Jireh, it is the State which is our Provider.

Instead of Jehovah Shalom, it is the State from which we derive our Peace.

Instead of Jehovah Rapha, it is the State which is our Healer.

Whereas the Creator was once almost universally recognized as the source of the blessings of our nation, now He has become so ignored as to be deliberately left out of the platform of the Democrat Party.

We've seen this coming for a long time.  But it struck me like never before when I watched the Democratic National Convention a few weeks ago, and was a little surprised to see what fired up the crowd:

1. They BOOED when from the stage it was brought for a vote to put "God" back in the platform (the speaker on stage crammed it into the platform, even against the people, for obvious political purposes)!

2. They CHEERED each time the stealing from "each according to his ability" to give "to each according to his need" was celebrated [for it is indeed stealing, and you may recognize those phrases as from atheist Karl Marx].

2. They CHEERED each time the right to marry "whomever you love" [new code words for homosexual marriage] was advocated.

3. They CHEERED each time the right to murder unborn children was celebrated [see http://goo.gl/CCwxb]!

"BUT, you say, God SHOULD be in the platform, and God FORBIDS stealing, and God HATES the perversion of marriage, and God HATES the killing of unborn children!"

"Ah, but OUR God is the State!  And the State doesn't mind.  Oh State, we worship you, and the President Priest who represents you!"

By the way, I'm well aware that most will vehemently deny that they have made the State their God.  But idols are sometimes sneaky -- and seductive -- and corrupting -- and often accompanied by denial.  Ask Solomon.

Election 2012 is a turning point in our nation.  It's official.  The recipients of the Sacraments of the State largely outnumber those who involuntarily pay for those Sacraments.  And those recipients are perfectly happy to vote for the Priests who will loot others to give them what they are "entitled" to, in the name of "equality".

Am I optimistic?  Yes and no.

I'm pessimistic about the direction of our nation regarding the State as God, the Holocaust of the Unborn, and the perversion of marriage.  

Some say, "We just need a MORE CONSERVATIVE candidate!  Or a Libertarian!  Or a Christian!  Or a Conservative Libertarian Christian!" 

But I think they likely miss the point.  That's not where the appetite of the State-as-God people is.

What can an opposition Party do?  Out-Statist the Statists?  Advocate even more "redistribution"?  Legalize more abominable sins?  Freedom and capitalism isn't connecting with the State-as-God crowd.

However, I'm 100% optimistic about the true Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Who died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.  Whoever believes in Him will be saved from their sins and have eternal life with God. 

As He said, "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."


If you don't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, I urge you to believe in Him.  Read the Gospel of John in the New Testament if you haven't.  It's great.

And as the song says, "The things of Earth...grow strangely dim, in the light of His glorious face" when we turn our eyes upon Jesus.

May God have mercy on America.

The Wrath of Abandonment

This isn't really about politics.

Well, maybe a little about politics.

But I am a Christian first, a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And way behind that, I'm a political Conservative, a believer in freedom of speech, freedom of religion, limited government, free enterprise, low taxes, constitutional strict constructionism, and right to life. In other words, I generally favor a republican (small "r") form of government, in which people freely and democratically elect their representatives, but with a Constitution which protects the freedom and economic sovereignty of its citizens, even unborn ones.

Almost always, when that type of government is not followed, it results in evil practices. Biblically evil. Few exceptions.

Such veering away from the foundations of our Republic is rapidly happening now, due to a radical Leftist President, and a nearly equally radical Leftist Legislature.

The essence of this is both a rapid erosion of freedom (including the freedom to publicly worship Jesus Christ and speak for His Word), and such evils as abortion, infanticide, and the stealing of the earned income of productive citizens to be used for Marxist or Socialist purposes.

Even Marxism itself is essentially a materialistic philosophy, anti-Christ, and has no interest in the spirits and souls of people, favoring the supposed "good" of the State, or those who by their sheer numbers prop up the power of the State.

Finally, such political coups require such blatant and enormous deceit by its leaders that it makes "normal" political deceit look like shining truth. My observation of such deceit in the current U.S. President and Congress is that it has reached the proportions of "The Big Lie".

You may remember that "The Big Lie" was a concept described by Adolf Hitler as a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously".

Except under the Obama administration, now only a month old, there are many such "big lies", too numerous to detail here.

Anyway, take a look at the following video, and then I would like to comment briefly on WHY I believe this is all happening:



Romans Chapter 1 speaks of the decline of peoples, individual and groups, in roughly the following pattern:

1. First, although knowing the power and attributes of God from the created world, they suppress the truth in unrighteousness, not seeking God.

2. Then there is typically a sexual revolution, which America experienced full force in the 1960's and 1970's, until today "shacking up", which was considered somewhat shameful when I was a kid in the 1950's, is now hardly blinked at.

3. Then there is a homosexual revolution, which we are currently in the midst of to an amazing degree.

4. Then, God reveals His wrath on a people, with a form of wrath John MacArthur calls "the wrath of abandonment", in which He, in one degree or another, "abandons" a people, nation, etc.

5. This results in a people of "depraved" minds.

John MacArthur, in an insightful message delivered during the National Day of Prayer in 2007, teaches this Romans 1 pattern regarding America, with a sobering conclusion that this "wrath of abandonment" has basically come about in America. MacArthur points out that "depraved minds" are minds which simply don't work like they should. They are illogical. Mentally defective.

So when we remark, "What's going on? Are these people CRAZY?!?", the answer is really, "Yes", in the Romans 1 sense.

Think of this next time you find yourself asking, "Is the Congress nuts!!!?" "Are the voters really that stupid!!?" "Has the world gone mad!!?"

A few suggestions:

1. If you are not a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I urge you to "flee the wrath to come", believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and follow Him. (More here)

2. If you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, more than ever stay in the Word of God, and fellowship with Jesus. You need that truth, and you need that close communion with the Truth. You will not likely find truth in the mouths or programs of political leaders. Walk in the Spirit, be filled with His Spirit.

3. Pray for Obama and our other leaders. If you don't live in America, please pray for us. Hopefully, we can return the favor.

4. Don't be cowardly. It's been said that nothing is worth living for if nothing is worth dying for. If you think these are overly dramatic words, you need to study simple history better.

5. Stay informed, but don't fret and stew and hate. Walk in love, even as you walk in truth. Speak the truth in love. Leave the results to God. "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord."

6. Be a witness for Jesus. Tell His story, His good news, His truth, His grace, in private and in public;
in letters to our political leaders;
in blogs and Letters to the Editor;
to your family who may be fearful in these times;
to a friend who may think that political power is the big answer;
to yourself...remind yourself regularly of who you are in Christ, and what He's done for and in you, and what is most important.

Dangerous Obama

First a few disclaimers and weasel-words before I thrill some of you, and disappoint some of you with some P-O-L-I-T-I-C-S.

1. Neither John McCain nor Barack Obama is the Messiah. I know that.

2. Politics never saved anyone's soul, never gave anyone peace that passes understanding, and never changed the hearts of people at the deepest level.

3. I have, at times, been accused of being a one-issue voter, because I believe that abortion is a modern-day Holocaust of horrible proportions, and I could never vote for someone who supports the right to kill...no, make that murder...the unborn.

4. It's not true at all that I'm a one-issue voter, although "one issue" is more than a LOT of voters in America have. They couldn't even NAME a single issue, but they "like" a certain candidate -- usually the tallest, best looking, most articulate, most charismatic, and so forth (so maybe those ARE their "issues").

Friends, if the shoe doesn't fit, please don't wear it, but the MAJORITY of people I talk to about the upcoming Presidential election are 1) uninformed to the extreme, and 2) don't really CARE that they're uniformed. I can't quite bring myself to think "dumb sheep to the slaughter", but well, I guess I just did.

5. There is not a racist bone in my body. I personally would LOVE to have an African American become President of the United States, IF they were...

--economically Conservative,
--strict constructionist on the Constitution,
--and had the decency to oppose the abortion Holocaust that has taken the lives of over 40 million(!) unborn babies in America.

Barack Obama is just the opposite of those ideals. Even so, I have not the least hatred in my heart towards him. I love him as a person, and sincerely wish the best for him and his family. Apart from politics, of course :)

5. Having said all that, and having mixed feelings about bringing P-O-L-I-T-I-C-S into a Christian Grace blog, I want to link to a little blog called "Dangerous Obama".

Why? Because I think Obama is dangerous on several levels. Yes, dangerous to unborn children, but more than that (see...I'm not a one-issue voter).

6. Since I first became "political" in 1964 at the tender age of 14, I have heard serious people and spin doctors say every four years, "This is the most important election in our lifetime." Yada-yada-yada. I MIGHT have said it myself, but I don't think so. It's a strong statement to make.

But now I make that statement:

I believe this is the most important election in our lifetime.

Barack Obama is not just a Liberal. He's not just a Democrat. He is documentably a Left-Wing radical of the most extreme kind that our country has ever come close to electing (there are always some like that running, but they are up-front and honest about their views, and so they get .0001 % of the vote).
